[0:00] At the end of uh the book of Matthew,

[0:01] chapter 28,

[0:04] right before Jesus ascends into heaven,

[0:07] Matthew 28, verse 18 and following, it

[0:09] says, "And Jesus came and said to them,

[0:12] 'All authority in heaven and on earth

[0:14] has been given to me. Go therefore and

[0:16] make disciples of all nations, baptizing

[0:18] them in the name of the Father and of

[0:20] the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching

[0:22] them to observe all that I have

[0:24] commanded you.'"

[0:25] Okay? So, this is where we get the

[0:27] Trinitarian formula.

[0:29] Uh

[0:31] Well, because it wasn't That wasn't part

[0:33] of what his point was. He wasn't trying

[0:34] to tell us how to baptize.

[0:36] He was just saying baptism's necessary.

[0:38] Baptism is part of this salvation

[0:40] process because you enter into the

[0:42] covenant family through baptism.

[0:46] Okay? Does that make sense? And then

[0:47] your first one was

[0:48] >> Jesus being baptized

[0:49] >> baptized as an adult.

[0:51] So, of course, um whenever Christ

[0:54] preached the gospel message of

[0:55] salvation,

[0:57] he did not preach it to infants.

[0:59] It just doesn't make sense. They don't

[1:01] understand, they don't comprehend.

[1:02] Everyone who first heard the gospel

[1:04] message were all adults, either young

[1:06] adults or older adults, and those who

[1:08] converted had the capacity to convert

[1:10] because they heard the message and they

[1:13] believed.

[1:14] Right? And And if that's all that was

[1:16] was to it, then we would all just wait

[1:18] until we're old enough to understand the

[1:20] gospel message, and then,

[1:23] you know, enter into baptism. But here's

[1:25] the thing about baptism, it doesn't just

[1:28] um

[1:30] It doesn't just manifest faith.

[1:32] We just saw in Acts chapter 2, verse 38,

[1:35] what else does baptism do?

[1:37] It saves you, it forgives you your sins,

[1:40] and what do you receive?

[1:42] The Holy Spirit.

[1:44] Right? And it also tells us, um

[1:47] that we become a child of God

[1:49] through that. And let me see if I can

[1:51] find that.

[1:54] It's in Galatians.
